WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE STUDIO?

We have a number of great classes and workshops going on upstairs in the studio in 2014. Most classes are drop in, or you can contact the workshop leader directly using details below. This list runs us through the week letting you know what's going on upstairs in the studio!

WEEKLY CLASSES

Yoga
Monday Evening 7pm-8pm £10

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise which uses postures (asana) to work all your muscles not just the isolated muscle groups. Many of the postures, such as twists and inversions, are performed to stimulate specific internal organs or release tension caused by stress in the body.

Yoga incorporates breathing exercises (pranayama) and it’s through the act of conscious and controlled breathing that calms the nervous system. It also oxygenates the blood and tissues and it brings changes in the brain functions. Yoga is often used as a therapy for the management of stress.

Rest is also a component of a yoga class. Every class ends in a state of conscious relaxation allowing the body and the mind to assimilate the effects of the postures (asana) breathing (pranayama) and allow the body to continue to benefit from the practice.

Yoga keeps us in good shape every Monday with Sally. The class incorporates heady knowledge of the body to help you really undertstand and develop your yoga practice. â€‹
